WI RN First Assist (RNFA) - Day Shift Monday-Thursday (7am-5:30pm)

Registered Nurse First Assistant – Nursing

Schedule

Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM. Call one weekend a month and seven additional nights during the month.

Assignment Details

Holiday coverage required.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Wisconsin.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant (RNFA) program or other recognized first-assisting education program.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• 1+ years of related operating room/surgical experience preferred.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team in preparing and organizing sterile supplies, instruments, equipment, and drapes for surgical procedures.
• Position the patient safely for the surgical procedure.
• Provide visualization and utilize appropriate techniques to assist with hemostasis.
• Assist with the closure of body planes utilizing appropriate techniques.
• Apply appropriate wound dressing and assist in inserting and securing drainage systems to tissue.
• Safely utilize surgical equipment and supplies.
