Main OR Operating Room RFNA for Da Vinci Robotics Registered Nurse

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

36 or 48 hours per week, Monday to Friday, day shifts. Evening call responsibilities until 11 PM, with no weekends or holidays as per unit needs.

Job Description

The RNFA is a highly trained Registered Nurse who must hold both a CNOR certification and have completed an accredited RN First Assistant program through an accredited college or university. This role collaborates closely with the surgeon and healthcare team to ensure safe operations and optimal patient outcomes. The RNFA practices perioperative nursing, acquiring the necessary knowledge, skills, and judgment specific to clinical practice in the operating room and in the RNFA role.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with surgeons and healthcare teams during surgical procedures.
• Practice in collaboration with the surgeon in the operative phase of the perioperative experience.
• Perform duties of Operating Room staff RN when not assigned in RNFA role.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS License as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN License - NY only).
• CNOR Certification required.
• Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant course.
• Two (2) years of Operating Room experience preferred; experience in a Level 1 trauma center is a plus.
• Robotic surgery experience preferred in various specialties including Urology, GYN, Colorectal, Surgical Oncology, Thoracic, and general surgery.
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association only) required; ACLS Certification is preferred.
