A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to join its surgical services team. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide exceptional perioperative care in a collaborative environment focused on clinical excellence, patient safety, and professional growth.
Provide direct perioperative nursing care to surgical patients using the nursing process and established clinical standards
Assist surgeons during operative procedures while functioning within the RNFA scope of practice
Perform trocar insertion and administer local anesthetic injections under direct surgeon supervision
Coordinate and support patient care activities throughout the surgical experience
Serve as a professional role model and clinical resource for members of the surgical team
Promote evidence-based practices and maintain high standards of patient safety and quality care
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
Demonstrate professional accountability and participate in ongoing professional development activities
Complete required competencies and physician sign-offs within designated timeframes
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Current Certified Operating Room Nurse (CNOR) certification required
Completion of a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) technical program or degree required
Certified RNFA credential preferred
Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Minimum of three years of acute care Operating Room RN experience required
Strong clinical, communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
