EDUCATION (must be required for position), LICENSE, CERTIFICATION and EXPERIENCE:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Must have graduated from an accredited school for Surgical Technologist or have had appropriate training for the position or have training as a first assistant through an accredited training program.
Licenses: Must have current State of Colorado Surgical Technologist license in good standing.
Certifications: Must have current BLS, Certification as Surgical Technologist or Surgical Assist, Certified First Assist preferred.
Experience: 1-2 years related experience required as a Surgical Assist
REQUIRED SCREENINGS:

* Driver Record screen (positions requiring on-the-job driving)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Take an active role in patient preparation and readiness, assists with the surgical suite room turnaround, equipment management, and has knowledge of special soft equipment specific to each surgical specialty.
* Reliable and punctual attendance is essential; expected to be at job as scheduled each scheduled day.
* Communicate necessary information to others as appropriate.
* Assists with patient positioning, placement of tourniquets, prepping of surgical site.
* Assists in maintaining hemostasis by direct pressure, use of ap application of appropriate surgical instrument for task, placement of ties and suture ligatures, application of chemical hemostatic agents or electrocautery, clamping, ligation and cutting of tissue.
* Assists in placement of surgical drains and closure of wound layers. Prepare grafts as directed by the surgeon. Postoperative subcutaneous injection of local anesthetic per surgeon’s directive. Select and apply appropriate wound dressings.
* Other Duties as Assigned
GENERAL DUTIES:
* Maintain highest standard of sterile technique during procedure and prepares sterile dressings.
* Prepare patient for surgery, transfer patient to operating table.
* Assist surgery staff with donning gowns and gloves.
* May assist with the transfer of the patient to PACU.
* Other job related duties as assigned.

Wage starts at $37.96 per hour and goes up based on experience
