Job Description
General Summary Plans and implements an educational program for Maryland’s pediatric citizens regarding child safety and the prevention of unintentional childhood injuries as the coalition coordinator for Safe Kids Baltimore, under the umbrella of Safe Kids World Wide. Manages the hospital based Child Passenger Safety Program at UMMC. Provides information and education to the community about services provided by the UMMC Hospital. In addition, proactively develops relationships with state and city agencies, child passenger safety advocates, community resources, educators and school systems and other agencies for the purpose of unintentional childhood injury prevention education.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing.
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required.
Clinical experience in a pediatric nursing position (PED or PICU preferred).
Certification as a CPST (Child Passenger Safety Technician) or completion within 6 months of hire into the position.
