Cardiac Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisting with chest exposure and closure, as well as performing vein harvesting for coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) procedures. While experience with DaVinci robotic cases is preferred, it is not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with chest exposure and closing in cardiac surgeries.
• Independently perform vein harvesting for CABGs.
• Scrub and circulate complex cardiac cases, including CABGs, structural heart procedures, and minimally invasive surgeries.
• Participate in heart failure cases and assist in heart transplant procedures, with preference given to candidates with transplant experience.

Requirements

• Active New York State RN license.
• Two (2) years of cardiac RNFA experience.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• CNOR certification.
• Experience in telemetry is required.

Work Schedule

The position will primarily involve working weekdays during the hours of 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, with on-call responsibilities based on unit needs.
