Job Description

The ideal candidate for this position should have;

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing is required
BLS completion

Join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals as a Registered Nurse I in the Med Surg 3 South unit at our state-of-the-art medical facility in Baltimore, United States. We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented nurse to provide exceptional care to patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, pulmonary conditions, and infectious diseases.

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and reassessments, gathering data from all available sources to formulate accurate nursing diagnoses
Develop and document individualized care plans with realistic, measurable goals based on patient assessments
Coordinate and direct available resources and personnel in implementing and following care plans
Administer treatments and medications as ordered by physicians, ensuring adherence to established protocols and safety standards
Perform nursing interventions in accordance with care plans and evaluate patient responses through regular reassessments
Revise care plans as necessary to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide holistic patient care
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient care activities and observations
Educate patients and their families about disease management, treatment plans, and preventive care measures
Demonstrate a commitment to patient safety and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Graduate from an approved Nursing School
Current and valid nursing license in the State of Maryland
BLS (Basic Life Support) Provider Certification
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Proficiency in computer skills necessary for documentation, information review, and communication
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities
Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple patient assignments efficiently
Knowledge of chronic disease management, including diabetes, hypertension, pulmonary conditions, and infectious diseases
Experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred
Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment
Empathetic and patient-centered approach to nursing care
Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and unit demands
