Job Description
A Nurse Manager at Kaufman Cancer Center (KCC) assists in planning, developing, and managing programs related to nursing and clinical care provided in the Kaufman Cancer Center such as Breast and Lung Cancer programs, Cardio-Oncology, GYN-ONC and Infusion Services. Manages and evaluates the system of care delivery and clinical services in multiple patient care departments which help to meet clinical and service quality objectives or accreditation status. This role proactively serves as a resource to Physicians and Cancer Center team members for education on clinical management of patients with a cancer diagnosis. Participates in department-based and organization-wide committees and task forces, serves as liaison between hospital nursing leadership and Cancer Center, and provides direct patient care in urgent or emergency related scenarios and/or significant staffing shortages. Manages human and fiscal resources to meet financial goals and achieve identified outcomes. Supports innovation in clinical practice and care delivery systems by staying current with innovations and literature in healthcare and care delivery. Interprets and enforces hospital and Cancer Center policies, practices and procedures with staff, patients, public and other members of the health team in a consistent and equitable manner.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in related discipline, healthcare administration, nursing administration, or a similar discipline is preferred.
Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred.
