Medical Secretary
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Friday 8am-4:30pm Wednesday, Thursday 8:30a-3pm
We are seeking new and experienced Medical Secretaries to join our extraordinary team!
As a Medical Secretary you will:
Answer telephone calls, handle routine inquiries, and refer non-routine matters to appropriate persons. Obtain, complete and follow up on all necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner. Maintains records and ensures documentation is scanned into patient records.
Schedule patient appointments and tests, coordinating with appropriate personnel as necessary. Schedule return visit appointments as appropriate assuring smooth functioning.
Assist team with all facets of preparing for patient visits or processing post visit documentation. Assure completion of Consent to Treat, HIPAA and other forms as appropriate.
Maintain electronic patient charts. Organize and prepare the necessary information, reports, records, charts and correspondence before the patient arrives for appointment.
Obtain necessary registration information on patients, co-pays, necessary referral forms and authorizations to forward to billing.
Summary: Under the supervision of Manager, assists in clerical support functions, maintains departmental records and files, prepares documents and correspondence, organizes inventory of office supplies and forms, and designs forms, graphs, etc. Assists with chart documentation. Assists with patient scheduling, registration and insurance verifications and obtaining authorization and/or referral for appointments. Education & Training: High school diploma or equivalency. AA degree in Business or healthcare administration preferred. Work Orientation & Experience: 2-3 years experience in a medical office or related setting with computer experience; general knowledge of medical terminology; prior experience with insurance verification and scheduling required. EMR experience preferred.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Must have either one (1) year of previous customer service experience or completed an accredited or approved Administrative Assistant program within the last 12 months
Previous healthcare or medical office experience is preferred.
