Job Description
Electrician, Full-time Days
8am-5pm
JOB SUMMARY: Maintains electrical utility environment of the facility. Installs, services, tests and maintains lighting systems, power distribution circuits, equipment and appliances. Assures electrical safety compliance. Participates in planning management and performance of construction/renovation projects involving electrical systems.
Qualifications
Education & Training: High school or vocation school graduation as well as completion of a formal electrician apprenticeship program. Must possess a minimum of a Journeymen’s electrician license. Maryland Master Electrician license is preferred.
Work Orientation & Experience: Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience in construction, installation and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems at Journeymen’s or Master level. Must be familiar with local building codes and their relationship to hospital requirements. Previous vendor interaction in developing specifications and appropriate equipment purchases.
Skills & Abilities: Ability to: a) be customer focused; b) manage and support electrical equipment and distribution systems for the facility; c) read and interpret electrical plans (blueprints); d) develop single line electrical plans; e) plan and estimate projects; f) provide support to vendor interaction; g) operate office equipment such as a calculator, telephone and photocopier.
