Atlantic Health System is Seeking a Full-Time RNFA at Newton Medical Center

Atlantic Health is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) to join the surgical team at Newton Medical Center. This position includes three 12-hour shifts (7AM – 7PM) with a weekday/weekend split call requirement. The RNFA will join two experienced team members supporting a growing surgical department.

Newton Medical Center is home to a new robotics program, and the department continues to expand. Located in Newton, New Jersey, the hospital offers a welcoming community setting with easy access to nearby highways and major cities. Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Candidate will have the ability to utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the plan of care for patients served.
  • Through the model of Shared Governance, collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidenced based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.
  • Candidate will demonstrate and embrace the PRIDE core values (Professionalism, Respect, Involvement, Dignity and Excellence) in every aspect of their job.
  • The responsibilities of the Registered Nurse First Assist is to collaborate with the surgeon during surgical procedures.
  • Apply principles of sepsis and infection control, knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology, and operative technique relative to operative procedures.

Qualifications

 Qualifications

  • Valid New Jersey Nursing License Required
  • BLS/ACLS Required
  • Certificate from an accredited RNFA program required
  • CNOR Preferred 
  • 1 year of previous RN experience in the OR is required 
  • Must have excellent communication and computer skills
